I love that there are so many fun things I can do with my girls over the summer! Some of my favorite activities are strawberry, wildflower, blueberry, and peach picking at Simmons Farm! Check out the blog posts from us picking strawberries and blueberries last year! There is something so sweet about spending the morning on a farm and then heading home to make something together as a family with the fruit that we picked.

On Thursday, we headed out early in the morning. It was a beautiful sunny day. The girls were running up and down the rows looking for the perfect strawberries. After filling up one big box with strawberries, we left the farm and then headed to the store to the ingredients to make strawberry shortcake. The strawberries were delicious! We ate through the entire box in one day.

I am really looking forward to picking wildflowers next! I can’t wait for them to open up the fields in a few weeks!!!

Pittsburgh Family Portrait Photographers | Soergel Orchards Family Photos | Lauren and Nolan

I love that Lauren wanted to do a mommy and me session with her son Nolan! Lauren is so beautiful inside and out and the bond that she has with Nolan is adorable. I first met Lauren a little under a year ago when we did Nolan’s one year session. It is amazing to see how much Nolan has changed since the last time I saw him. One thing that I loved about this session was even though he has grown up into the cutest little toddler, he is still the same little explorer he was a year ago. The entire session he was picking up rocks and playing with the dandelions. It was such a relaxing and fun session. I really enjoyed documenting Lauren and Nolan snuggling up together, reading books, blowing dandelion seeds, and playing with trucks!

Wexford PA Family Photographer | Nicolette Dixon Photography | Wexford, Pennsylvania | Brandi, Afton, and Amzey

All dressed up in white lace dresses, the pictures of Brandi with her two little girls couldn’t be any cuter! I am in love with Brandi, Afton, and Amzey’s Mommy and Me session. We did their session at Soergels Orchards in Wexford, Pennsylvania, when the blossoms were in full bloom. They day was absolutely perfect! There was not a cloud in the sky. One of my favorite moments during Brandi’s Mommy and Me session was when Afton and Amzey looked up at their mother. This picture just makes my heart melt!

“I’m a mom of two girls (4 and 2) and I also work full-time. We are constantly running between work, school, soccer and swimming so we really enjoyed the chance to slow down and share the fun moments Nicolette captured of us for Mother’s Day. The session was short enough to keep my girls’ attention but long enough to capture these great shots of us enjoying each other. Wexford family photographer | Nicolette Dixon Photography | Wexford, Pennsylvania | Drew, Charlie, and Bradford

One of the best parts about being a photographer is getting to document families as they grow and change over time. Four years ago Drew reached out to me and asked me to take Charlie’s newborn pictures. When Drew asked me take her Mommy and Me pictures this year, I was beyond excited. I couldn’t wait to see them again and meet Bradford for the first time. It is amazing how in just four short years, that beautiful newborn baby is now the most adorable little four year old girl! We did their session at Soergels Orchards in Wexford, Pennsylvania. It was the perfect location for Drew’s mommy and me session. Since I knew that the blossoms were only going to last a week or two, I drove by the orchard every few days to see how the trees were doing. A week before Drew’s session, I noticed that the trees were already blossoming. I contacted Drew to let her know and she was okay with changing the date for her session. Let me just say, this woman is amazing! In just a few days she was able to pull everyone’s outfits together and was ready to go by Sunday! On the day of the session, the blossoms were in full bloom!

I asked Drew to write a couple of sentences about her family and her experience and this is what she wrote.

“I’m a busy mom, with a 4 year old, a 2 year old, and one on the way. I love to take pictures and capture moments of time with my children as they grow. Quite frequently, I’m not in the pictures so when I heard about the mommy and me session, I figured I would treat myself for Mother’s Day. It was so great to get together with Nicolette again. It’s been 4 years since she took photos of Charlie as a newborn. So much has changed and we’ve added Bradford to the family. I was looking for some candid shots of us and Nicolette was able to capture us just laughing and being silly. We all had a blast. She was so great and patient with the kids.”-Drew
