At Gretchen’s baby shower, her friends surprised her with a gift certificate for a newborn session! It was such a thoughtful gift idea!!! I couldn’t wait to meet Jackson! Gretchen and Jordan wanted to do a lifestyle session in their home and I am so glad they did! When I walked into their house I fell in love with Jackson’s nursery! His nursery is decorated with gray and navy blue accents. I absolutely love that he had signs in his room that said “Even the smallest one can change the world” and “Don’t wake the dreamer.” I didn’t think it could get much cuter than that, but then Gretchen pulled out a swaddling blanket with arrows!! The entire session was a dream! After we were done taking pictures in the nursery, we headed over to the master bedroom for a different look and feel. As I was walking in, I saw a guitar out of the corner of my eye. Immediately I knew that I wanted to get pictures of Jordan playing the guitar with his family! This was by far my favorite moment during the session! Here are some of my favorite pictures from Jackson’s in home newborn session!

Newborn Photographer Pittsburgh | In Home Newborn Photography | Alayna

I absolutely loved that Lindsay and Bill wanted Alayna’s newborn session in their home! Alayna and Will’s theme in their nursery is “Oh The Places You’ll Go!” It is definitely one of the cutest nurseries I have ever seen! There is an adorable world map above the crib with an airplane writing the words
“Oh The Places You’ll Go” in the sky, a globe on the changing table, an adorable pinwheel mobile above the bed, a gigantic bear, and banners on the wall with the kids’ names. It was the perfect setting for Alayna’s newborn session!

I have been looking forward to meeting Alayna since Lindsay’s maternity session in the spring. When I walked into the nursery my heart just melted when I saw her for the first time! Alayna is precious and perfect in every way!

I was seriously counting down the days until I got to meet Sawyer! When I arrived at my sister’s house, my heart sank and my eyes started to tear up! He is so precious! I feel in love immediately! I truly love that I got to spend the morning hanging out with my sister and taking pictures of Sawyer. Every time I look at these pictures, I want to just snuggle up with him. I mean seriously, that face, those lips…he is perfect in every way!!!

I asked Alexa to write about Sawyer and her experience and this is what she wrote.

“Doing the infant photos for Sawyer was something that I was really looking forward to as we did not do them for our first born, Charlene, and was something that I regret. This time with Sawyer, although exhausting, is so ethereal and precious, its a shame to not savor all of the little moments and treasure the physical reminders of the memories. I hope that I never forget the feeling of the warmth of his forehead against my cheek or his infant baby soft smell, but I feel those memories already fading of the time I got to spend with his sister. Was she really this little? I don’t ever want to forget.

Nicolette was so professional the second she walked into our home. I was nervous that Sawyer was going to fuss the whole time, but with a mothers touch, Niki, soothed him into every transition and pose that the session was actually a relaxing break and a fun moment to connect with another mother during those first few weeks of utter exhaustion and constant worry. I am so happy with how the photos turned out and very excited to have them to look back on as that little reminder of the time when I was blessed with moments of pure contentment and excitement for our growing family.” -Alexa
