As a Pittsburgh family photographer, I love all of the beautiful colors in the fall.  Before Julie and Shane’s family session, I was driving around scoping out locations and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I drove past Clearview Park Trail in Crafton, PA.  It was the end of November and most of the leaves had already fallen off of the trees leaving them bare.  Julie wanted a walking in the woods feel for the first part of her session and this location couldn’t have been any more perfect.  The best part was we were only a few minutes from their house so we were able to quickly grabbed a couple of pictures outside in the cold before we headed to their house for the last part of the session. I love the Julie wanted to have pictures taken in her home.  I am falling in love with lifestyle photography.  The black and white pictures of Austin and Lexi reading have become some of my favorite pictures of all time!

I asked Julie to write a couple of sentences about her experience and this is what she wrote.

“With both Shane and I working it never leaves much time, I’m always afraid we are missing out on the good times with the kids. And I’m afraid I will forget how great those times are, they go by so quickly. I wanted to get pictures that weren’t in a studio but of us doing what we do everyday. Reading with the kids is something we do every night before bed, they love it. Nicolette was able to capture exactly how I feel ever time I sit down with the kids to read. Not only the love I have for them but the excitement and awe that they get from reading and using their imaginations.” -JulieJulie and Shane created this beautiful wall display for their stairway with the pictures from their session!I grabbed a couple of pictures of Austin and Lexi in their Christmas outfits for their Christmas card.  I love, love, love this picture of Austin and Lexi!The last part of their session, I grabbed pictures of Austin and Lexi reading.   They were listening a story their grandmother had recorded for them.  One of my favorite moments was when Lexi looked up and with the brightest smile said, “It’s grandma!”
