As a Pittsburgh family photographer, I enjoy the time that I spend with each of the families as I get to know each one better. It was freezing at Silver Lake located in Utah the day of Cody and Crystal’s family session. Crystal brought hot chocolate and a blanket for the girls to cuddle under during the session. There had been a couple of big snow storms that month so Silver Lake was frozen over and completely covered in snow. When we were making our way around the lake, we had a very narrow path that we could actually walk on. A couple of times during the session, we had snow up to our knees. My favorite part of the session was at the end when everyone laid in the snow and made a snow angel!

As a Pittsburgh family photographer, I am always discovering wonderful locations for photo shoots. While we lived in Utah, Silver Lake had become one of my favorite locations for portrait sessions. A few weeks before Melissa and Jon’s family session I went for a drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon. I wanted to find a location that still had beautiful color this late in the season. What I found was even better than what I had imaged. Silver Lake was the perfect location for Melissa and Jon’s session. On the day of their session, it was gorgeous! We walked completely around the lake stopping at several different spots for pictures. I could definitely take pictures of Kane all day. He is absolutely adorable! He has one of the most contagious smiles I have ever seen!
