All dressed up in white lace dresses, the pictures of Brandi with her two little girls couldn’t be any cuter! I am in love with Brandi, Afton, and Amzey’s Mommy and Me session. We did their session at Soergels Orchards in Wexford, Pennsylvania, when the blossoms were in full bloom. They day was absolutely perfect! There was not a cloud in the sky. One of my favorite moments during Brandi’s Mommy and Me session was when Afton and Amzey looked up at their mother. This picture just makes my heart melt!

“I’m a mom of two girls (4 and 2) and I also work full-time. We are constantly running between work, school, soccer and swimming so we really enjoyed the chance to slow down and share the fun moments Nicolette captured of us for Mother’s Day. One of the best parts about being a photographer is getting to document families as they grow and change over time. Four years ago Drew reached out to me and asked me to take Charlie’s newborn pictures. When Drew asked me take her Mommy and Me pictures this year, I was beyond excited. I couldn’t wait to see them again and meet Bradford for the first time. It is amazing how in just four short years, that beautiful newborn baby is now the most adorable little four year old girl! We did their session at Soergels Orchards in Wexford, Pennsylvania. It was the perfect location for Drew’s mommy and me session. Since I knew that the blossoms were only going to last a week or two, I drove by the orchard every few days to see how the trees were doing. A week before Drew’s session, I noticed that the trees were already blossoming. I contacted Drew to let her know and she was okay with changing the date for her session. Let me just say, this woman is amazing! In just a few days she was able to pull everyone’s outfits together and was ready to go by Sunday! On the day of the session, the blossoms were in full bloom!

I asked Drew to write a couple of sentences about her family and her experience and this is what she wrote.

“I’m a busy mom, with a 4 year old, a 2 year old, and one on the way. I love to take pictures and capture moments of time with my children as they grow. Quite frequently, I’m not in the pictures so when I heard about the mommy and me session, I figured I would treat myself for Mother’s Day. It was so great to get together with Nicolette again. It’s been 4 years since she took photos of Charlie as a newborn. So much has changed and we’ve added Bradford to the family. I was looking for some candid shots of us and Nicolette was able to capture us just laughing and being silly. We all had a blast. She was so great and patient with the kids.”-Drew

As a Pittsburgh photographer, I can’t tell you how much I love taking pictures in the snow. The snow on Wednesday was magical! The large snowflakes were floating down from the sky. Since there hasn’t been much snow this winter, we really wanted to make a snowman. The snow was so light and fluffy! After several failed attempts at making a snowman, we eventually gave up and decided to have a snowball fight!

Sewickley Family Photographer | Nicolette Dixon Photography | Sewickley, Pennsylvania | M Family

As a Sewickley family photographer, I truly believe that photography is one of the best gifts that someone could give. Melissa’s family wanted to surprise her parents with an extended family picture for Christmas. We met up in Robin Hill Park in Moon Township, PA, in late October. It was a beautiful fall day. During the session I really enjoyed watching as Jon, Jay, and Madelyn played together. One of my favorite moments during their session was when Jon and Jay were tickling Madelyn. I love how bright Madelyn’s smile was when she was around her brothers! Another moment that I will always remember was when I was taking pictures of Thomas. I really enjoyed playing with him and capturing his reaction as I swooped down toward him and made silly noises. Thomas has such a cute little laugh!

Melissa and her family gifted her parents with a beautiful thin wrap canvas of the entire group for them to display in their living room. I couldn’t wait until Christmas to find out their reaction. I was beyond thrilled when I heard that her parents loved their gift!

As a Pittsburgh family photographer, I love all of the beautiful colors in the fall. Before Julie and Shane’s family session, I was driving around scoping out locations and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I drove past Clearview Park Trail in Crafton, PA. It was the end of November and most of the leaves had already fallen off of the trees leaving them bare. Julie wanted a walking in the woods feel for the first part of her session and this location couldn’t have been any more perfect. The best part was we were only a few minutes from their house so we were able to quickly grabbed a couple of pictures outside in the cold before we headed to their house for the last part of the session. I love the Julie wanted to have pictures taken in her home. I am falling in love with lifestyle photography. The black and white pictures of Austin and Lexi reading have become some of my favorite pictures of all time!

I asked Julie to write a couple of sentences about her experience and this is what she wrote.

“With both Shane and I working it never leaves much time, I’m always afraid we are missing out on the good times with the kids. And I’m afraid I will forget how great those times are, they go by so quickly. I wanted to get pictures that weren’t in a studio but of us doing what we do everyday. Reading with the kids is something we do every night before bed, they love it. Nicolette was able to capture exactly how I feel ever time I sit down with the kids to read. Not only the love I have for them but the excitement and awe that they get from reading and using their imaginations.” -JulieJulie and Shane created this beautiful wall display for their stairway with the pictures from their session!I grabbed a couple of pictures of Austin and Lexi in their Christmas outfits for their Christmas card. I love, love, love this picture of Austin and Lexi!The last part of their session, I grabbed pictures of Austin and Lexi reading. They were listening a story their grandmother had recorded for them. One of my favorite moments was when Lexi looked up and with the brightest smile said, “It’s grandma!”
