Jalee and Devin are expecting a baby girl next week! They wanted her to have a unique name and always loved the name Elliette. Jalee’s middle name is Dawn and so they are going to call her Elliette Dawn. So cute!
When they first started decorating the nursery, Jalee found a rabbit that she really liked. She thought it was Peter Rabbit and later noticed that the rabbit had a pocket watch. When she looked it up, she found out that the statue was the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. Then when they found out that they were having a girl they stated decorating the nursery with an Alice in Wonderland theme. She has an adorable Mad Hatter hat and old teacups in the room. She also painted a beautiful picture of Cheshire Cat and wrote a quote from the book on a chalkboard and hung it up in the room.
Jalee and Devin moved to Pittsburgh 12 months ago. Jalee has been pregnant for 9 out of the 12 months that they have been living here. They told me that they will always associate this pregnancy with their experience here in Pittsburgh and wanted to do an urban location with a couple of portraits of downtown for their session. They also wanted to incorporate a couple of whimsical Alice in Wonderland pictures. When I was scoping out spots downtown I couldn’t believe that there was actually a Mad Hatter painted in front of Costume World. We started their session over a Ppg Place and then ended the night at Costume World in the Strip District to get a picture of the two of them with the Mad Hatter in the background!
